Kayse, thank you so much for your words. They encouraged me to think about what I want for this year. I´m learning to plan, to have goals. Until now my life has been a disorder, but, I´m so grateful because every time I read one of your articles, I learn so much. I have two little ones and a husband. And I have to think in my word for this 2018.
As you are very honest about your life, it heals me (from my own fears) and give me hope. I love to be in a group of moms where there are words of grace and encouraging. Thank you for sharing your trials with us, I will be praying for you. Thank you so much for your teachings.
    Happy New year!

God bless you and your family, Kayse! Thanks for your willingness to share your deep feelings. My word is Routine, as I have fought doing anything to do with routines since I’ve retired. Suddenly I see how making my own routines helps me to do things with less effort and more joy. I actually have joy as I complete tasks like laundry and cleaning the kitchen sink! I have created a routine for each of my goals. Thanks again for your inspiration.

  3. Love you Kayse!!! Will be praying for you and your precious family. God will provide. God will heal because He loves you more than we can explain. This stage of life will pass and when the kids are teenagers you (myself included cuz I’m a mom of two boys) will be searching for that one word to reel them back in. Maybe thats our job to reel them back in. I know Im a stubborn mule when it comes to being in The Word daily. But God always reels me back in with Love and Gentleness ?.

  4. That’s so funny. We have been given the same word. I have been using short word goals for the past few years. And this year my goal is to be a gentle, joyful and fit mum & wife. I then use this goal to decide how I will respond to opportunities that come along. I got this idea from Nicole Avery @ Planning With Kids. It has been such a blessing to let go of the burden of more stuff to do each year and focus on how I want to BE.

This was an extremely honest and vulnerable post, and I truly appreciate your words. To give myself permission to not pursue big goals, but to take care of myself and lean into gentleness is also what I need right now. I value that you outlined your goals and action steps as well ;it helps me to understand exactly how to implement my goals. I’m currently sitting down with my fiance as I type about to dive into how to cultivate gentleness and living intentionally for the year ahead based on what you’ve shared. Thank you and God Bless you and your family.

  6. Thank you so much for sharing what has been going on in your family’s life and what God has been working on in your heart, mind & soul!! I don’t know if you have looked into any weight loss programs out there, but I have been doing Weight Watchers for the past 4 1/2 months and have lost 35 pounds with about 25 more to go. The accountability of the weekly weigh-ins and the encouragement from the meetings & the online community have been fabulous. May God bless you and your family as you cultivate gentleness into your lives.

  7. Is the simple start journal for a year?

  8. Kayse, I love this so very much. May the Lord honor and bless your faith in choosing priorities that matter.

  9. I have been getting so many emails pushing me to be better and more, actually probably pushing me to try to be the best and the most. That isn’t what God has for me right now either! I think I should unsubscribe from some of those pressure pushers and sink into the hands that are holding me, saying it is fine to be small; there are other things for you to focus your whole heart on now.

  10. Prayers for your precious child. My ‘word’ for 2018 is Holy Ground. Every encounter I have, every activity I take part in, even the way I treat my body…they are all holy ground opportunities. I have scripture references for each of those three areas and feel excited and challenged for the new year!

  11. Kayse, yours is the only blog that I have ever followed. There is just a realness and an openness to you that I don’t see often. I appreciate your willingness to get vulnerable and put difficult things out there for us to read and know about you. As a mom of 3 young kids, I can relate with a lot of what you write about. Thanks for encouraging me, Kayse. Your posts and your scripture plans have been a blessing. Im not sure about my 2018 goals yet, but I guess it’s time to start thinking about it!

  12. Girl,
This post was so encouraging and I’m sure not the easiest for you to write, so thank you.
I’ve been struggling finalizing my big goals and I think (after reading your words) it’s because I know deep down I’m signing up for long nights and tired days.
    Thanks for sharing ?
PS love the toolkit ? it’s been a life saver as well as the planner. It’s the unicorn my life has been missing.

  13. Popping in after a much needed break. Will be praying for your child with anxiety. That has to be so hard. I suffer with it as an adult. I cannot imagine being a child having to deal with it. I love the resources you share. I love your OneWord! Happy New Year!
